We Started in 1978

Pharmacy Computer Services: A Story that Started in 1978.

In 1978 Jimmy Carter was President of the United States, the hit films were Grease and Saturday Night Fever and some of the favorite TV shows were Happy Days and Love Boat.

It was also the year Pharmacy Computer Services, Inc. started.

A handful of Southern Oregon community pharmacists embarked on a journey to discover how to use software to make their operations more efficient. They hired a software developer and started turning this vision into a reality. Five short years after successfully using it in their own pharmacies our founders decided to start selling the Rx3000. One of our first clients was a well-known University Medical Center and just a few short years later, Pharmacy Computer Services, Inc. was employing dozens of developers, support personnel and management to keep up with demand.

Today, not much has changed. We still value each client as if they are our first and we still build relationships as much as we build software.

How Clients Tell Our Story

“We recently installed a new clinical system (EMR) throughout our organization. PCSI helped build an interface between the two systems to receive orders electronically without transaction fees. This reduces my costs, but also increases efficiency, reduces patient safety error risks, and decreases wait times.” -Steve M. Director, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services.
“Because of PCSI’s assistance, leadership and contributions to project planning, developing the interface with WillCall Rx, addressing last minute needs, and commitment to teamwork with our other vendors, the project has been a great success. The pharmacy staff is enjoying the system’s easy use and dependable performance. Again, thank you for helping us achieve a new level of excellence in customer service! We could not have succeeded without you!” -Colleen G. Pharmacy Project Manager
